The National Byway needs your help to complete its development, maintain the route and increase usage in the future. Funding currently mainly supports the planning, research and negotiations necessary to establish route sections, as well as the cost of signposting and mapping them for public use. Ranger programmes to ensure they are maintained are also now in development, and long-term educational programmes have been designed to stimulate awareness and usage.
The National Byway receives no direct governmental funding. We have raised more than £1 million through support from various partners, sponsorships and charitable donations, but we need to continue to raise money to assist us in achieving our objectives and your support is needed and is most welcome. You can make a donation through this site or contact the Operations Office about supporting Britain's heritage cycle route, whose objectives are clearly stated on our Home Page.
